Dynamic Balancing

An new American Hoffman hard bearing dynamic balancing machine has been installed at Iselann-Moss Industries. This machine can handle rolls up to 75" long and 35" in diameter. It has a 500# capacity. The machine is totally digital and considered the state of the art of current equipment.

With this machine in place, Iselann-Moss now offers in house capability to balance rolls to ISO standards. An obvious advantage of in-house balancing is lower cost to consumers. Dynamic balancing in house, has added another dimension to the industry best, split nip roll, manufacturing capability of Iselann-Moss Industries.

Split Nip Rolls

Thirty years of development has led to a process that ensures superior wear resistance of the polyurethane covering as well as outstanding adhesion of the covering to the cores.

A key feature of split nip rolls manufactured by Iselann-Moss Industries is the proprietary process they have developed to ensure that the seam between the two halves has no opening or overlap. This prevents pinching or marking of your paper in process.

The grinding procedure at Iselann-Moss exceeds current OEM standards for tolerance on the outside diameter of the rolls. Standard O.D. tolerance at Iselann-Moss is +.002" / -.000". A consistent O.D. can be assured on your rolls when ground in matched sets simultaneously.

Another key feature of the process at Iselann-Moss is the stripping process. When split nip rolls are sent in for recover, no metal is removed from the cores during the process of stripping. This prevents severe balance problems and in process skewing of paper due to differential polyurethane covering thickness. Since polyurethane coverings expand with heat, if one roll has had metal removed from the core, the covering must be thicker to achieve the same O.D.. Rolls used in sets that do not have the same coating thickness will expand at different rates causing in process skewing of paper.

Flying Splicer Rolls

After three (3) years in the field the Polyflex Flying Splicer Rolls have proven their durability. These rolls manufactured using a high tensile strength foam polyurethane resist the high centrifugal forces of high speed rotation, and have very high abrasion resistance necessary for this application. After molding with a process that ensures uniform foam density, these rolls are ground to exact OEM specifications.

Polyflex Flying Splicer rolls are available to fit all machines.

Cutting Rubbers

Sixteen standard profiles of cutting rubbers are available form Iselann-Moss in both Metric and English sizes. Molded to tight tolerances these long lasting cuting rubbers are regarded as the best available polyurethane product on the market. Additional sizes added as required.

Vacuum Rolls & Vacuum Bars

Iselann-Moss can provide Vacuum Bars and rolls for Butler zero speed splicers. Vacuum Bars and Rolls are also available for Martin, zero speed splicers. All Vacuum rolls can be supplied as complete new units or on your cores stripped and recoated.
